As many of the chat room regulars remember, Userplane, our previous chat room home has become reather problematic. Not only are the annoying ads and pop ups, but recent users have begun to get viruses.
So for our three times a week chat parties this season, we're trying something new. We will be "watching" the show in Second Life.
As you may know, Second Life is a virtual reality environment that allows you to interact with people from all over the world using custom made avatars. Many of us have been playing SL for years now and we'd love to have you join us.
The beauty of SL is that you can be involved or not involved as you like. Some folks spend hours playing, running virtual businesses where they make REAL money. Others may log on for a few hours each week to talk to friends. It's up to you.
Most importantly, there is NO cost to join and all the basics you'll need to play will be provided to you by the group.
There will be NO ads and no pop ups.
You CANNOT get a virus or in any other way harm your computer.
TV audio will be improved over last year.
Obviously you are free to explore the whole Second Life world, but you are also welcome to log on only for the shows and never go any farther than that.
A full group of volunteers await to help you, but it's very easy to learn and do.
PM me through the board if you want more info or if you're already a member of SL, IM Cliothe Luo.
If you are new to SL, it is STRONGLY suggested that you join up this week before the show starts so we can show you around. If you wait until next Thursday at 8pm to join, we will NOT be able to help you lol.
We look forward to hanging out with you!

Lol well I will be working till 12 or 1 am tonight. And I have to help my dd move into her townhouse tomorrow so I am not sure if I will fell like going into it tonight but maybe tomorrow night. But remember I am only signing into SL to chat! 
We worked the Southern Baptist Convention last week and are working the Christian Conference or the NACC. Casting Crowns are playing tonight after the service so we might be late getting home. It has been fun to see the differences in the conferences, as I am Baptist but have really enjoyed the Christian conference.
Got to get ready to go to work.

Look at it this way..... just like our chatroom only MUCH more colorful and fun!
And do not worry about getting sucked in....yes, it can happen....but I'm one of the lazy ones who doesn't run a buisness or build stuff, lol. I'll be on mainly show nights and if I'm bored I log on to hunt for freebies, lol. And we'll all be ready to show you the ropes! I'm the most computer illiterate person I know....if I can figure it out, anyone can!

Ok so I went to SL and downloaded and everything but it says cannot access without 32 bit color or something to that. DH says video card not right. My computer only goes as high as 24 bit.
But I tried and. I even got a name.
Susie Swordthain! lol
I might try my laptop, its a better computer but dd's baby shower is this weekend and I am super busy getting ready and have to go to a funeral tomorrow to beat that and BB is about to start!

Crazy, I swear you are the busiest person I know.
And that IS a cool name ..... although, I forgot to tell you, you'd probably want to pick a name similar to your board name here or no one will know who you are lol.
I'll look into the 32 bit problem .... but my goodness! 24 bit? How are you even able to access this board? lol

I wish I could join you all this year, but the kids don't go to bed until 830ish. So, it would be sporatic and stressful (bedtime is very stressful around here) if I did pop in. Look forward to screenshots and updates on the board tho.
