No 'housemates' for Big Brother launch
'Big Brother' producers have revealed that presenter Davina McCall will not be introducing official housemates in tonight's launch show.

Eight men and eight women will be presented to the public in the first show of the 10th anniversary series but these people may not become housemates.

All 16 will compete in a series of tasks in order to earn a place in the 'Big Brother' house. The unsuccessful candidates will be evicted on Sunday.

AdvertisementThe hopefuls will reportedly spend their first few days in the house living in one room with only cold porridge to eat.

The contestants will be forced to sleep on the floor of the living room and will have no access to the kitchen or the official bathroom.

Sharon Power, an executive producer on the show, said: "Everybody is expecting to walk into a normal 'Big Brother 'house with lots of rooms and furniture and places to go, and they will actually have this one living room and the garden."

"The first time they will realise something is up is when they walk in and find one room and a garden."

Once the successful housemates have been selected they will be given access to the rest of the house, with one bedroom for the boys and one bedroom for the girls.

The youngest person due to enter the house tonight is 18, while the oldest is aged 40.

Ok, here's my thoughts on the opener.....

Yay! There's no ugly normal people on the show!!!!

LOL @ Davina making fun of Freddie's accent.

I thought Lisa was Pete when I saw the photos of her earlier. I think she may be Dick's long lost sister.

Kris remind me of Russel Brandt.

I think BBUK has found a winning pattern after what's his name last year ...... albino dude .... and Coolio and now Cairon.

WIth women like Angel in Russia, it's a wonder we were able to win the Cold War. :)

..... or maybe not.

I predict Lisa and Angel will not get along because they're too much alike.

Sophia is adorable.

... and so is Rodrigo.

Sapphia has on a lovely dress.

Raise your hand if the notion of an India-Pakistan romance between Shree and Benazir brings you much joy?!

I love Siavash, it's like Rock Jesus living in BB land.

Well, the DAY after the live feeds start, looks like the dude who owns JustinTV.com (where you can watch the feeds) is selling his site and we now not watch the feeds.
